Organizational Snapshot
Unique Leverage: CSF provides matching grants to our local partner programs, offering scholarships in 35 cities and areas nationwide. Each dollar committed by CSF has incredible leverage, since it is matched by local donors and again by the parents of our recipients, who pay about half their tuition from their own pockets.
Program Cost: In Fiscal Year 2009, CSF spent $27.8 million on scholarships for about 29,000 low-income children. When this money was matched with funds raised by our partner programs, the total value of all CSF scholarship award payments came to almost $43.6 million. You can view our most recent IRS 990 form and audited financial statements here.
Funding: CSF enjoys support from a range of foundations and generous individuals. Currently, the organization is on track to sustain the current level of funding for at least the next two years, and we are working with our CSF partner programs on a comprehensive plan that will strengthen our infrastructure and capacity in the years to come.
